AUGUSTA, Maine — The body of a 44-year-old woman was found on Tuesday morning behind a house on Longwood Avenue, according to police.

Officers were called to the area just after 10:30 a.m. after the body was discovered by a couple of children playing, according to Augusta police Lt. Kevin Lully.

The woman’s name was not disclosed.

Lully said the property at which the woman’s body was found is abandoned. No foul play is suspected.

The woman’s body was transported to the state medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
