OAKFIELD – Timmy Dean Hanson Sr., 55, died August 23, 2014 at his home, with his son and daughter by his side, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born April 29, 1959, in Hartford, Conn, the son of Gilbert and Joyce (Kelly) Hanson.
Tim worked as a union millwright for 30 plus years, which allowed him to travel all over the country. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and he loved to ride his Harley, ATV’s and snowmobiles.
He is survived by his mother, Joyce and Norman Sleeper of Bangor; his children, Tim Hanson Jr. and Lindsi Hanson both of Oakfield; siblings, Mark Hanson of Kokomo, Ind, Cathy Hanson of Somerfield, FL, Steve and Diane Hanson of Newport; uncle, Ben Hanson of Medway, whom was like a second father to him; his children’s mother, Penny Laser; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially his best buddy, Danny Hustus and special cousins, Kevin, Keith and Krystal Wasson. He was predeceased by his father, Gilbert; step-father, Carlton Buck.
A service will be held in his honor to celebrate Tim’s life 2 p.m. on Friday, August 29th at the Charleston Pentecostal Church, 185 Main Road, Charleston with Matthew Ward officiating.
