Police seek Waterville man involved in assault

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

WATERVILLE, Maine — A College Avenue man allegedly involved in an assault Monday afternoon is being sought by police on an arrest warrant.

Waterville Police Chief Joseph Massey said he was not sure what exactly Emmanuel Hurtado, 23, is wanted for.

Around 2 p.m. Monday, police got a call from a man claiming he had been assaulted, and he was bleeding from his head when police spoke with him, according to Massey.

The victim told police it was Hurtado who assaulted him, but Massey said the man did not want to press charges. The chief added police learned Hurtado had a warrant upon running his name.

Massey said police continue to seek Hurtado on the warrant, but do not anticipate him being charged in connection with the assault.

The victim was brought to Thayer Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
