Car accident causes power outage to more than 1,200 Emera Maine customers in Fort Kent

FORT KENT, Maine — Crews with Emera Maine were on the scene Saturday night replacing a pole damaged in a motor vehicle accident that cut power to more than 1,200 customers.

The accident occurred on Market Street just after 8 p.m., according to information released by Emera on Saturday evening.

The outage affected customers in the downtown area and was expected to last for about an hour.

Emera Maine encourages customers to stay clear of downed power lines and trees in contact with power lines. Customers may report outages or ask questions by calling the customer service center at 973-2020 or 855-EMERA11 (855-363-7211). Information also is available on Twitter at @emerame.
