BRADLEY AND GREENVILLE – Kenneth G. Prickett, 81, died peacefully July 18, 2014 at home surrounded by family. Ken was born and grew up in Medford, NJ.
From the farm as a young man, to serving his country with pride in the Navy, to the factory of steel, to the business of owning camps in Greenville, to the wilds of working at a lodge in Alaska gaining lifelong friends, back to his own farm and becoming an auctioneer in Missouri, and returning to Maine. Ken had the call for trying new things without fear as long as he had his devoted wife and partner, Janet with him. In his younger days he was athletic playing baseball, wrestling, and swimming. He was an inventor in his own right making due with what he had. Ken had a great sense of humor and enjoyed storytelling. His greatest passion and love was for his family.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Janet, of 60 years; four children, Michael and fiancée, Rosemary LaMontain, Karen McLaughlin and husband, David, Susan Audet and husband, Larry and Lorriann Mahan and husband, Dale; grandchildren, Sean and Donald Voteur, Brenda Paul, Mike Prickett, Jr and Nichole Cheverie who inherited her grandfather’s passion for adventure and travel; several nieces, nephews and eight great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents, siblings and grandson, Kenneth Cheverie.
Special thanks to Dr’s Vincent Michaud and James VanKirk and Hospice of Eastern Maine. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Old Town Animal Orphanage. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Greenlawn Funeral Directors, Bangor.
