FORT FAIRFIELD – David C. Burtchell, 70, passed away Sunday morning, July 20, 2014, at an Eagle Lake nursing facility, following an extended illness. He was born July 12, 1944 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Charles E. and Florence (Anderson) Burtchell.
He was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1962, and furthered his education at Southern Maine Technical College, receiving an automotive degree in 1964. David had been self-employed as a farmer for a number of years, was a member of the Fort Fairfield Lion’s Club where he held numerous offices, was a Master Mason at the former Fort Fairfield Eastern Frontier Masonic Lodge, and attended the Presque Isle Wesleyan Church.
He was predeceased by parents and is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Ann Burtchell of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Linda Little of Westminster, CO; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street Fort Fairfield, immediately following the interment service.
