SACO, Maine — The 87-year-old woman struck by a truck in a Saco hit and run accident last month has died, according to police. Jewell Friedman was out for a walk on Ferry Road in Saco on June 21 when the accident happened. Friedman died early Saturday morning at Maine Medical Center. Two days later, police arrested Leo Paul Bedard, 45, of Saco for leaving the scene of an accident. Police said they will discuss next steps when they meet with the York County District Attorney’s office as part of the ongoing investigation. Bedard continues to be held at the York County Jail.
