More than 1,300 Emera customers without power in parts of Maine Thursday morning

By Julia Bayly, BDN Staff

FORT KENT, Maine — More than 1,300 Emera Maine customers in Aroostook, Penobscot and Washington counties were without power Thursday morning and crews were on the ground searching for the cause, according to information posted on the company’s website.

The bulk of those affected are in Aroostook County, with about 40 without power in Washington and Penobscot.

Crews are patrolling a transmission line to determine the reason for the outages in Bridgewater, Monticello, Littleton and Blaine.

Additional crews are out addressing unrelated outages in other areas across Emera’s service territory which may be related to damage stemming from the tropical storm that passed through the area last weekend.

Officials hope to have power restored by 10 a.m.
