BANGOR, Maine — Emera Maine and Central Maine Power repair crews worked through the night to restore power to more than 6,000 customers who lost it Tuesday, according to the utilities’ live outage and restoration maps.
By 7 a.m. Wednesday, CMP had 340 outages left, mostly in Waldo and Cumberland counties according to live outage information on its website. That’s down from 4,000 outages in CMP’s service area on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, Emera Maine, which listed more than 2,100 customers out Tuesday, was down to just 85 Wednesday morning, with most of the remaining outages in Washington and Hancock counties..
Many of the outages are the result of high winds and wind gusts, Emera Maine spokesman Bob Potts said in an outage alert issued about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
