Police investigate body discovered in Lewiston

LEWISTON, Maine — A passerby discovered a body near the corner of Sabattus Street and Old Greene Road shortly before 6 a.m. Saturday, according to a report from the Sun Journal.

Police erected a tent at the scene as they continued their investigation, the Sun Journal reported.

By Saturday night, police identified the body but were not releasing any name pending notification of family members, according to Lt. David St. Pierre. “We are investigating a deceased male at 810 Sabattus St.,” he said. Police had no comment on a possible cause of death. “It is not believed to be a homicide,” St. Pierre said.
