Jackknifed tractor-trailer temporarily shuts down Route 1A in Holden

HOLDEN, Maine — A section of U.S. Route 1A in Holden is temporarily shut down town allow for the removal of jackknifed tractor-trailer, the Maine Department of Transportation said in an alert issued shortly after 6 p.m.

The accident occurred near the intersection of Route 1A and Route 46, according to an accompanying map issued with the alert.

As no detour is available, motorists should consider alternate routes, transportation officials said.
