BANGOR, Maine — Police arrested two men and a juvenile male Wednesday morning in connection with a string of car burglaries on the west side of the city and are asking anyone who might have been a victim of the spree to contact authorities.
A woman called police from a residence on Silver Road at about 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, reporting she saw fresh footprints around her car and it appeared someone had unsuccessfully tried to break into her vehicle, according to Bangor police Sgt. Catherine Rumsey. At 4:40 a.m., a resident of Deer Isle Road called police and reported three men in the area who appeared to be trying to get into cars. Several officers went to the area and located and arrested the young men.
The suspects, all from Bangor, are Bryce Celino, 21; Joshua Soule, 20 and a 17-year-old male who is not being named because he is a juvenile. Celino was charged with one count of burglary to a motor vehicle and one count of violation of bail. Soule was charged with two counts of burglary to a motor vehicle and two counts of theft. The juvenile was charged with one count of receiving stolen property, one count of possession of dangerous knives and one count of possession of schedule Z drugs, prescription pills for which he did not have a prescription.
The two adults remained at Penobscot County Jail Wednesday afternoon. The juvenile was taken to Mountain View Youth Development Center in Charleston.
Police recovered a large amount of property they believe was stolen from several cars through the course of the night. If you believe you are a victim, call 947-7384. The investigation is continuing and the three men may face more charges.
