Money Works class

BANGOR — Women, Work, and Community will offer the 15-hour class, “My  Money Works: Tools for Smart Money Choices,” from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Monday and Wednesday, from March 3-12. The class will be taught in Bangor Hall on the UMA-Bangor campus at Bangor International Airport.

The class will help students gain the skills and confidence they need to stretch their money, pay their bills, reduce debt, find money for savings, plan for retirement, and set personal financial goals. Successful completion of the class meets one requirements for the Family Development Account matched-savings program and the Rainy Day Fund.

Whiteout Paper Drive

BANGOR — The Third Annual Winter Whiteout Paper Drive will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 15 at Shaw’s Supermarket, 353 Main St., Bangor. Organized by Welcome to Housing volunteers, the driver will collect donations of toilet paper, household items, and personal care items. People can drop off donations at Shaw’s or pick something up at the store and leave it off on the way out.

Welcome To Housing will sponsor the Third Annual Home Basics Round-Up from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 at Marden’s, 564 Wilson St., Brewer.
