Game notes: The Black Bears are intent on getting a win after losing their last two, including an excruciating 74-73 loss to New Hampshire on Wednesday. The Retrievers have dropped seven straight, most recently a 65-39 decision Tuesday at Albany. UMBC is only 2-6 at home this season. Maine continues to work on shoring up its defense after allowing 67.2 ppg on 42 percent shooting. The Retrievers are giving up almost 8 3-pointers per game while the Bears’ 34 percent accuracy leads America East.
