A Maine Department of Transportation truck went off the road as it was plowing snow and rolled over onto its side in Perham on Saturday night.

PERHAM, Maine — A state Department of Transportation snowplow rounded a sharp corner as it was clearing snow, went off the highway, and turned over onto its side, State Police reported Sunday.

The accident occurred on Route 228 at the intersection of Mouse Island Road about 5:53 p.m. Saturday.

Matthew Ellis, 28, of Caribou, was driving the truck and plowing snow when he lost control at the sharp corner, police reported.

The truck went off the left side of the road and rolled onto its side into the ditch.

Ellis suffered minor leg injuries, according to police.

The passenger side of the truck was damaged. A tow truck righted the truck and removed it from the scene.
