Bangor man arrested after allegedly leaving scene of minor accident

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — A minor accident on Saturday evening led to the arrest of a local man who left the scene, police said.

Travis Thibodeau, 36, of Bangor and another motorist collided at the intersection of Broadway and Grandview Avenue around 4:30 p.m., according to Bangor police Sgt. Catherine Rumsey.

She said police learned Thibodeau was the driver at fault, and that he had left. The other driver gave officers Thibodeau’s license plate number, and police were able to locate him at his residence.

After he was uncooperative during questioning, Rumsey said, Thibodeau was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident, operating after suspension, refusing to submit to arrest and disorderly conduct.

Thibodeau remains at Penobscot County Jail.
