AUGUSTA, Maine — A Waterville physician has voluntarily surrendered his medical license while under investigation by the Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine, according to a Wednesday press release from the board.
Michael Durr, M.D. is being investigated for issues related to the medical care he provided to a specific patient while previously working in Waterville.
The Board accepted Dr. Durr’s offer to surrender his Maine medical license, which effectively closed the investigation without further proceedings. No findings of fact were made by the Board related to this matter.
The Board reports all licensees who surrender their licenses while under investigation to the National Practitioner Data Bank and the Federation of State Medical Boards Action Data Bank. These reports are regularly reviewed by every state licensing board in the country.
The Maine Board of Licensure in Medicine is made up of six physicians and three members of the public appointed by the governor. For information, visit maine.gov/md.
