Police seeking woman who stole truck from Jefferson Street driveway

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

BANGOR, Maine — Police are seeking a female suspect who stole a pickup truck from a Jefferson Street residence on Thursday morning.

Bangor police Sgt. Cathy Rumsey said the theft was reported at 7:30 a.m.

The unattended truck was warming up in the victim’s driveway when the theft occurred, Rumsey said.

Before police arrived, the owner and his neighbor spotted the pilfered vehicle down the street and tried to stop it. Rumsey said one victim was struck by the truck, but he did not require a hospital trip despite rib pain.

Less than an hour later, the truck was found abandoned behind the In-Town Plaza on Harlow Street, but the suspect was gone, Rumsey said. The thief is a white female with dark hair and blonde highlights.

Anyone with information on the case should call Bangor police Officer Paul Colley at 947-7384 ext. 5722, or use the department’s anonymous tip line at extension 6.
