POWNAL, Maine — A 22-year-old Pownal man remained in Cumberland County Jail early Tuesday afternoon after police say he assaulted his mother, father and 22-year-old girlfriend and then fled on foot before being apprehended Friday afternoon.
Jonathan Golding was charged with three counts of domestic violence assault and failure to submit to arrest, according to Lt. Tom Williams of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
Golding allegedly climbed out a window and ran into the woods after three Freeport Police Department cruisers arrived at the Tuttle Road home owned by Golding’s father just before 2 p.m. Friday, Williams said by phone Tuesday.
Officers followed on foot and one used a Taser, but only one of two Taser prongs hit Golding, and he continued to run through a brook before police corralled him, according to Williams.
By the time officers returned to the home with Golding, Cumberland County deputies had arrived, and they took him to Cumberland County Jail.
Golding is being held on $1,000 cash bail and is scheduled to appear in Portland District Court on Nov. 13,
