By Ann Bryant, Sun Journal

FARMINGTON, Maine — After attempting to retrieve keys locked in his own vehicle by smashing a window, a Farmington man was arrested on a charge of driving under the influence.

Ernest McIntosh, 22, was arrested shortly after midnight Thursday morning by Farmington officer Ryan Rosie when a neighbor called about a disturbance occurring in the Bridge Street neighborhood.

At the time, McIntosh was outside his apartment, smashing the passenger window of his vehicle after he locked the keys inside, Bonnie Pomeroy, Farmington Police Department secretary said.

When police arrived and found the man clearly impaired, they began an interview during which McIntosh admitted that he had just driven home, she said.

McIntosh also faces a probation violation charge.

He was transported to Franklin County Detention Center.
