ROCKLAND, Maine — A 17-year-old St. George driver was issued a summons Saturday night after police say he flipped his car while doing “doughnuts” in the high school parking lot.

A passenger suffered minor injuries in the crash that occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Oceanside High School East.

Ellery Montgomery was issued a summons for driving to endanger, according to Rockland Deputy Police Chief Wally Tower.

Montgomery was doing the high-speed turns when he lost control of his 1996 Ford pickup truck, Tower said, and the truck flipped three times. His 17-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization after being checked by a Rockland emergency medical services crew.

The vehicle had to be towed because of the extensive damage.
