FALMOUTH, Maine — A woman was seriously injured Wednesday in a two-car crash on the Maine Turnpike in Falmouth, police said.

The woman, whose name wasn’t immediately available, was heading northbound when she was struck by a pickup truck, Department of Public Safety spokesman Stephen McCausland said.

McCausland said it appears the woman was struck by the truck after pulling back onto the highway after she had a flat tire fixed in the breakdown lane around 10:30 a.m.

Northbound traffic was diverted at Exit 53, McCausland said. No other details were available.
