SACO, Maine — Saco police arrested another man Thursday on an unlawful sexual contact charge, one of several in the city this summer.

Luis Lopez, 51, of Biddeford allegedly grabbed a detective’s groin through his clothing on a trail off Mill Brook Road, according to Saco police administrative secretary Lori Angis.

Detective Ken Foss was on patrol near the Mill Brook Road when he observed Lopez engaged in suspicious activity.

The detective noticed Lopez had his shirt off and pants down on one of the trails, and Lopez gestured to the detective to approach him.

As Foss approached, Lopez reached out and grabbed Foss through his clothing, upon which Lopez was subdued and arrested.

Lopez was brought to York County Jail and later released on bail.

In May, Saco police arrested a man who allegedly grabbed an officer’s genitals and asked, “Are we doing this?”

Police have patrolled the trails in an effort to curb illicit activity.
