BREWER, Maine — The gleam and sheen of highly polished chrome and paint will mingle with old (and new) car nostalgia when Brewer Boy Scout Troop 15l hosts its sixth annual Brewer Days Car Show, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at the SnapSpace Solutions parking lot, 55 Baker Blvd. in the Brewer Industrial Park.
The event will feature first, second and third place awards in 17 classes of vehicles from the 1950s to the 2000s, including motorcycles. The People’s and the Eagle’s Choice Awards also will presented. First place winners will receive one-of-a-kind awards made by members of Troop 15. Check-in time for those showing vehicles is 9-11 a.m. Awards will be be presented at 2:30 p.m.
The registration fee to enter a vehicle in the show is $5 per vehicle. There is no admission fee to spectators.
Other activities at the event will include National Street Rod Association vehicle safety inspections throughout the day; a “make and take” wooden car or truck making session sponsored by Lowe’s, games and a coloring contest for children; a silent auction; a concession stand offering breakfast and lunch items and baked goods; and booths staffed by local businesses offering information about their products and services.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Troop 15 activities.
