CARIBOU – Guelda M. Michaud, 80, wife of the late Claude Michaud, died Aug. 24, 2013, in Caribou. She was born May 12, 1933, in Presque Isle, the daughter of the late Shelbourne and Ina (McKeen) Ferguson.
She was a graduate of Caribou High School and was a member of the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church. For more than 38 years, Guelda was employed as a CNA at Cary Memorial Hospital and then Cary Medical Center.
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Drenna and Martin Veilleux of Oakland and Karla and Scott Curry of Caribou; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Ralph and Gwen Ferguson of Caribou and Arline Ferguson of New Sweden; two special grandsons, Jason Libby and Matthew Curry; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Michaud was predeceased by her husband, Claude in 1999; and a brother, Basil Ferguson.
Friends may visit with the family 6-8p.m. Tuesday, at Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, from Gray Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dr. Thomas Bentum officiating, assisted by Mary Lou Brown. Following the service all are invited to a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the church dining area. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery.
