By Abigail Curtis, BDN Staff

NEW GLOUCESTER, Maine — A local man died Sunday afternoon after he lost control of his all-terrain vehicle and hit a tree, police said.

Brock Thompson, 32, had been pulling out of a dirt driveway and onto Weymouth Road on his three-wheeled vehicle about 3:30 p.m. when the crash happened, according to Trooper Jodell Wilkinson of the Maine State Police.

Wilkinson said Sunday night that Thompson suffered major head trauma and died at the scene. He was not wearing a helmet and alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, which is under investigation, according to the trooper.

United Ambulance, New Gloucester Rescue and the Maine State Police all went to the accident scene.
