BATH, Maine — Bath police and the state medical examiner’s office continue to investigate the death of a 39-year-old man whose body was found Sunday afternoon in his Lilac Street home.

Joel Theriault of Bath was found by his girlfriend at approximately 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Bath police Lt. Robert Savary said Monday. The couple’s 4-year-old child was home at the time of the death, according to Savary.

“The cause of death remains to be determined,” Savary said, “but there were no signs of violence or foul play at the scene.”

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the medical examiner’s office in Augusta.
