By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

LEBANON, Maine — A 50-year-old Lebanon man was hospitalized Saturday night after he lost control of his motorcycle, according to officials.

The man, whose name was not released, was traveling along River Road around 7 p.m. when he lost control of his 2008 Harley Davidson, Lebanon Rescue Assistant Chief Jason Cole said.

The bike apparently drifted onto the sandy shoulder of the road, lost control and struck a tree, Cole said. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown about 15 feet.

The man’s injuries were not life-threatening, and he was treated at Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester, N.H., according to Cole.

The motorcycle was heavily damaged and towed from the scene, Cole said. State police are investigating the crash.
