EASTBROOK, Maine — The body of a 24-year-old local man reported missing since Friday was recovered from a pond near his home Monday evening.
Police suspect that George Francis drowned, but the official cause of death awaits additional tests by the state medical examiner’s office, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Family members told police that Francis had disappeared from his home at 138 Silver Hill Farm Road on Friday. They reported him missing Monday, according to McCausland.
Members of the Maine Warden Service and a Maine State Police dog found the body Monday evening, he said.
