According to a post on the Cross Insurance Center website, the second event for the new facility has been revealed. Comedian and puppeteer Jeff Dunham will bring his 2013 Disorderly Conduct tour to the Cross Insurance Center, in a show set for 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22. Tickets are $48 and will be available at 10 a.m. Friday, July 12, via ticketmaster.com, the Cross Insurance Center Box Office, or charge by phone at 800-745-3000.
The international success of Dunham and his puppets cohorts, like Achmed the Dead Terrorist and Peanut, have been driven by his Comedy Central specials, which set global records for both ratings and sales. Dunham’s fourth Comedy Central special, “Controlled Chaos,” premiered to 8.3 million viewers overall, making it the most viewed cable show that night. Dunham continued to break ratings records at the end of 2011, when The Bio Channel’s premiere of “Jeff Dunham: Birth of a Dummy” became the network’s top-rated telecast ever.
The New York Times Magazine declared Jeff Dunham “the most successful comedian working in America.” Dunham was recently named Pollstar’s number one comedy tour in North America for three years running as well as their top worldwide tour for two years in a row. Dunham last performed in Bangor in 2011, on the Bangor Waterfront.
This is the second event the Cross Insurance Center has announced, after revealing that the Harlem Globetrotters would be the inaugural event on Sept. 22. More announcements will arrive in the coming weeks. For more information about the Cross Center, visit www.crossinsurancecenter.com.
