BREWER, Maine — A Brewer man is facing a domestic violence assault charge after an argument with his girlfriend turned physical on Sunday, police said.

Michael Ford, 30, and the woman got into the altercation around 4:30 p.m. Sunday, according to Brewer police Capt. Chris Martin.

Ford had struck the woman as the argument between the pair got heated, according to Martin. The victim was not injured.

Brewer police Officer Ed Willey arrested Ford and brought him to Penobscot County Jail, where he remained Monday morning, the police captain said.
