Man arrested in Augusta stabbing case

By Ryan McLaughlin, BDN Staff

AUGUSTA, Maine — A man wanted in connection with an Augusta stabbing has been taken into custody, according to police.

David Delesline, 44, is being charged with elevated aggravated assault, according to Augusta police Lt. Christopher Massey.

Massey said Delesline was taken into custody at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. He had been on the loose since Sunday, the lieutenant said.

When police located Delesline, he had lacerations on his wrists and was transported to Maine General Hospital in Augusta for treatment, along with a psychological evaluation, Massey said.

Once he is released from the hospital, Delesline will be held without bail at the Kennebec County Jail.

The victim has been released from Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, according to Massey, and is recovering.
