Brunswick police and fire respond to a crash on Maine Street in Brunswick this morning. The driver involved was not injured.

BRUNSWICK — Upper Maine Street was reduced to a single lane late Thursday morning following a crash involving a pickup truck that crashed into a parked vehicle and utility pole.

The crash occurred at around 11 a.m. on Maine Street near the Veterinary Clinic.

Brunswick police officer Julia Gillespie said a 17-year-old driver from Brunswick was operating a Nissan Frontier pickup truck and apparently become distracted, crossed the center line and hit a parked car; then traveled down the sidewalk a short distance and hit a utility pole. After striking the utility pole, the truck bounced backwards a short distance hitting the back of a parked Dodge pickup truck causing a very small dent to the Dodge.

The teen driver was not injured, Gillespie said. The air bag deployed in the Nissan Frontier pickup truck, and the parked white sedan sustained substantial damage. Both were towed from the scene. No charges were issued.

Traffic was reduced to one lane while crews cleared the scene.
