Pittsfield residents ordered to boil water

By Alex Barber, BDN Staff

PITTSFIELD, Maine — The town of Pittsfield has issued a boil-water notice for residents of five roads in town after a water main break.

Residents on Lincoln, Detroit, Leonard and Davis streets as well as Hunnewell Avenue are asked to boil water for at least five minutes before consumption, including drinking, making ice cubes, washing foods and brushing teeth.

The order, which was put out on Wednesday morning, will remain in effect until further notice. Crews are working on the problem.

Residents with questions should call Scott Noble, assistant superintendent of the Pittsfield Water District, at 487-5203.
