BANGOR, Maine — More than 3,700 Bangor Hydro and Maine Public Service Co. customers are experiencing power outages due to this afternoon’s thunderstorms. Outages reached their peak at about 8:30 p.m., with about 6,500 customers without power in both service territories. Crews are making good progress restoring power, but due to the widespread nature, it will be early tomorrow morning before power is restored to all customers.
Bangor Hydro and Maine Public Service encourage customers to stay clear of downed power lines and trees in contact with power lines.
Customers can report outages or ask questions by calling Customer Service Centers at 800-440-1111 (Central and Downeast Maine) and 877-655-4448 (Northern Maine).
Customers are expected to have power restored by about 6:00 a.m. Monday.
