ROCKLAND, Maine — Rockland representatives to the Regional School Unit 13 Board will hold a public forum next week on the future of schools in the district.

The meeting is scheduled to run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, May 30 at Rockland City Hall.

The board is in the midst of discussions on how best to align the schools. At a meeting Tuesday night, Board Chairwoman Esther “Tess” Kilgour unveiled her proposal.

Meetings have already been held for Owls Head, South Thomaston, Thomaston and Cushing. St. George is developing plans to withdraw from the six-community district.

Rockland is represented on the board by Kilgour, William Pearce, Donald Robishaw Jr., Carol Bachofner and Nancy Jeffers.
