BANGOR, Maine — Police are continuing to search for a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since Sunday.

Penobscot County Sheriff Glenn Ross has scheduled a press conference at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday regarding the reported disappearance of Nichole Cable of Glenburn. The press conference will be held in the county commissioners’ chambers at the former Superior Court building on Hammond Street.

Ross said Wednesday morning his agency and multiple others are piecing together details regarding the case.

He declined to discuss the girl’s disappearance in more detail, citing the open investigation.

“It’s a very active investigation [that’s] going on,” he said. “We’re working with multiple agencies.”

Nichole’s parents, Jason and Kristine Willey, have turned to social media in hopes that their daughter will return home safely.

A Facebook group Cable’s parents have established, “Bring Nichole Cable Home,” had more than 1,900 members as of Wednesday morning.

Police agencies throughout the state have shared information with Cable’s description on Facebook, along with New England Cable News, based in Boston.

Cable stands 5 feet, 1 inch tall, weighs 90 pounds and has brown hair and blue eyes. The teen has her nose, lip and ears pierced.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office at 947-4585.
