Catherine C. Sirois

GRAND ISLE – Catherine C. Sirois, 89, died peacefully at home May 10, 2013. She was born March 23, 1924, in Grand Isle, daughter of the late Johnny Cyr and Flavie Cormier.

Her faith gave her strength as she faced declining health in recent years.

She is survived by four sons, Albert Sirois Jr. and wife, Jeanne, of Nashua, N.H., John and wife, Joan, of Nashua, N.H., Dennis of Arizona, and Paul and wife, Cathy, of Goffstown, N.H.; nine daughters, Helene Marie of Grand Isle, Cecile LaPorte and friend, Jim, of Arizona, Jeanne and husband, Peter Desjardins, of Durham, Catherine and husband, Paul Erickson, of Perham, Minn., Ann Marie and husband, Michael Lajoie, of Cyr Plantation, Rita and husband, Reed Beaulieu, of Van Buren, Louise and husband, Yves LeClerc, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada, Pauline Sirois of Arizona, and Paula and husband, Terry Wilson, of Newton, N.J.; 16 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Leo Paul and wife, Matilda Sirois, of Kissimmee, Fla.; and five sisters-in-law, Therese Sirois and Anita Marquis, both of Arlington, Mass., Juliet DeAngelis of Medford, Mass., Sr. Rita Sirois of Fiji Islands and Eva Levesque and husband, Reno, of Madawaska. Catherine was predeceased by her husband, Albert Sirois, May 27, 2003.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at St. Gerard Church, Grand Isle. Family and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Lajoie Funeral Home.
