Portland church, filling station team up to offer reduced-price gas

By Judy Harrison, BDN Staff

PORTLAND, Maine — Next Level Church will partner Saturday with Citgo Xtra Mart Gas Station, 865 Brighton Ave., to drastically reduce the price of gasoline.

Beginning at 11 a.m., 2,500 gallons of gas will sold sold for $2.89 per gallon, according to a press release issued by the church, located at 1053 Forest Ave. in Portland.

The church originally planned to hold the event on April 20 but rescheduled it to Saturday after the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15.

“At Next Level Church, we believe God sent his church to give, and this is one of the most practical ways we can share God’s generous heart with people,” Lead Pastor Joshua Gagnon said in the press release.
