BRUNSWICK, Maine — A 19-year-old Brunswick man whose license has been revoked for being a habitual offender was arrested Thursday and charged with stealing a vehicle, among other offenses.
Stephen Beaulieu allegedly stole the 1996 Ford Bronco from the Brunswick Hannaford parking lot, according to Brunswick police Lt. Tom Garrepy. The vehicle was reported stolen just before 6 p.m., and at 7:20 p.m. police located it at the Big Apple at Cooks Corner.
Beaulieu failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. He was charged with operating under the influence, unauthorized use of property, violation of conditions of release, operating a vehicle without a license, operating after habitual offender revocation and on a probation hold.
He also was charged with transportation of liquor by a minor after police allegedly found a bottle of Jim Beam in the Bronco, Garrepy said.
Beaulieu is being held on $1,500 bail at Cumberland County Jail. He is scheduled to appear July 2 at West Bath District Court.
