BANGOR, Maine — Bangor police arrested a Hermon man and a Bangor woman Friday after they allegedly attempted to steal clothing, hair accessories and Legos during a visit to Walmart.

Rhett Bartlett, 33, was arrested on a theft charge because he has prior convictions for theft, Bangor police Sgt. Larry Weber said Friday night. Bartlett’s girlfriend, 32-year-old Jessica Moores, was charged with theft and arrested on an active warrant, Weber said.

Before the two were taken to Penobscot County Jail, the two made arrangements for a neighbor to pick up a child who was in their company when the incident took place, Weber said.
