BANGOR, Maine — Police responded to a First Street residence early Wednesday morning where a woman was yelling for help and arrested a local man for domestic violence assault.
Russell Graves, 26, argued heatedly with his girlfriend and refused to leave despite her telling him to do so, according to Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards.
When the woman told Graves to go, he grabbed her arm aggressively, Edwards said.
Police arrived and interviewed witnesses and determined Graves was the aggressor and placed him under arrest, Edwards said.
Graves was brought to Penobscot County Jail and released on bail.
Graves has had a run-in with Bangor law enforcement before, according to BDN archives. In 2009, he was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and diverted prescription drugs.
