Staten Island woman charged with stealing $840 in teeth whitening products

FREEPORT, Maine — A New York woman was arrested in Freeport on Saturday and charged with stealing $840 worth of teeth whitening products from CVS pharmacy.

Andrea Sanders, 24, of Staten Island, N.Y., also was charged with assault after police say she allegedly pushed store personnel when they caught her stealing just before noon.

After discovering Sanders stealing the products, store employees found the town’s parking enforcement officer on the street and called to him, Freeport police Lt. Susan Nourse said Tuesday. The officer then followed Sanders until patrol officers arrived.

Nourse said it’s not yet clear whether Sanders also stole from other stores in town.

Sanders was taken to Cumberland County Jail, and has since been released. She is scheduled to be arraigned June 18 at West Bath District Court.
