Farmington police find two bodies in house

By Ann Bryant, Sun Journal

FARMINGTON, Maine — Police say they were called to 202 Maple Avenue shortly after 1 a.m. Monday morning to investigate a possible suicidal person.

They found a man and woman deceased at the residence.

The names of the individuals involved are not being released pending notification to families, Deputy Chief Shane Cote of the Farmington Police Department said.

The Farmington Police Department, Maine State Police and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner are investigating the two deaths. More information will be released as it becomes available, he said.

Police earlier said the deaths may each be self-inflicted, but are waiting on the cause of death by the state medical examiner.

Neighbors did not report hearing anything unusual, but police have been at the scene since 1:30 a.m., Sgt. Edward Hastings IV said.

Police said they were checking on a report of a missing young woman and found that the homeowner knew her.
