FREEPORT, Maine — A Brunswick man was arrested Wednesday and charged with burglary and aggravated criminal mischief in connection with a string of commercial burglaries in Freeport, Brunswick and Yarmouth.

Willis L. Jordan III, 35, whose last known address was in Brunswick, was arrested at a home at which he was staying on Litchfield Road in Freeport, Freeport Police Lt. Susan Nourse said.

He was charged with burglary and aggravated criminal mischief in connection with a March 11 burglary at Romeo’s in Yarmouth, a March 23 burglary at McDonald’s in Freeport and an April 5 burglary at Mike’s Convenience Store in Brunswick.

Brunswick, Yarmouth and Freeport police executed a search warrant at the Litchfield Road home where Jordan was staying, and allegedly discovered items connected to all three burglaries, including clothing, computer items and bank deposit bags containing an undisclosed amount of cash.

Nourse said the items were missing from the businesses or were evidence that otherwise ties Jordan to the burglaries.

Nourse said other burglaries may be involved.

Jordan was taken to Cumberland County Jail and held on $25,000 cash bail. He is scheduled for arraignment Friday afternoon.
