Thirty seek Rockport manager job

By Stephen Betts, BDN Staff

ROCKPORT, Maine — Thirty people have applied to be Rockport’s next town manager.

Select Board Chairman William Chapman said the Town Manager Search Committee is expected to present a list of semi-finalists to the board around April 16.

The town charter states that the search committee and select board will then prepare a questionnaire for the candidates and after the responses from the semi-finalists are reviewed by the search committee, a list of up to five finalists will be presented to the board.

The selection of the manager then rests with the board, whose members will interview those finalists.

The town has been seeking a town manager since the Feb. 14 resignation of Robert Peabody.

Roger Moody is serving as interim manager.
