WESTFIELD – Gilbert S. Cray, 84, passed away early Saturday morning March 30, 2013, at Maine Veterans Home, Caribou. He was born Dec. 23, 1928, in Westfield, the son of James W. and Eunice (Cray) Cray.
He served in the U.S. Army as a medic. Gilbert worked in Waterbury Conn. at Century Brass Co. for a number of years. He loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors. He attended Easton Pentecostal Church.
Gilbert is survived by three sons, Stephen R. Cray and wife, Marcia, of Presque Isle, Kenneth J. and wife, Chris, of Torrington, Conn., and David G. and wife, Linda, of Waterbury, Conn.; two daughters, Judy Summa and husband, Bill, and Linda Jean Cray, all of Waterbury, Conn.; brother, Paul Cray of Mars Hill; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rose (Michaud) Cray, in 1994; two sons, Michael and Joseph; and several brothers and sisters.
A graveside service with military honors will be held 3 p.m. Friday, May 10, at Marshall Cemetery, Westfield, with the Rev. Andy DeRier officiating.
