WARREN, Maine — Voters have returned a veteran selectman to the town board.

Arnold Hill was re-elected Monday during municipal elections, receiving 164 votes compared with 131 for former selectman and current school board member Wayne Luce.

Hill has served on the Board of Selectmen for 24 years, although with some breaks between terms. He first was elected in 1984.

There were no candidates on the ballot for the Regional School Unit 40 board seat held by Luce. Luce received the most write-in votes for the seat with four. The position has been offered to him and he was expected to make a decision later Tuesday. Nancy Watson received two write-in votes and there were several people with one write-in vote each.

Incumbent RSU 40 board members Theodore “Tod” Brown and Maggie Massengale both were re-elected without opposition to seats on the school board.

The annual town meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, at the Warren Community School.
