ROCKPORT, Maine — The Rockport Town Manager Search Committee will hold a public comment session at the beginning of its Wednesday evening meeting.

The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at the meeting room of the Rockport Opera House.

The search committee members were chosen by the Selectboard after discussions about potential members held in a closed-door meeting. The search committee also has been holding all its meetings behind closed doors, saying the town’s attorney had advised the group that it was legal.

The committee will go into a closed-door session once public comment is received.

The committee will make recommendations to the Selectboard on candidates for the post that was vacated when Robert Peabody received a severance agreement with the town.

Roger Moody is serving as interim manager.
