BOOTHBAY, Maine — A homeowner was injured during a robbery on Barters Island Sunday night. The perpetrators stole cash and jewelry before fleeing, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff’s deputies responded at 8:19 p.m. to the home, in the Barters Island area of Boothbay, for a reported robbery by three suspects who “took steps to conceal their identity,” a press release from the sheriff’s office states.

The department has not released the amount of cash nor the value of the jewelry taken.

No weapons were displayed, but one of the homeowners was injured during the robbery and did not request medical treatment.

A Maine State Police canine helped track the direction in which the suspects fled, but they were not located Sunday night.

The investigation continues Monday, and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information about the incident contact Detective Terry Michaud at 882-7332.

A call to Maj. Ken Mason with the sheriff’s office seeking additional information was not immediately returned.
